We are now getting to the time of year when every weekend if filled with some sort of even. Whether you are hosting or attending, it is always nice to be able to bring a contribution. And that is where this insanely easy and delicious shrimp dip comes in.
I don’t know about you, but my time over summer is just packed! It can be so hard to squeeze everything in.
And I am one of those people that likes to help out with the food when attending a family function.
But again, who has the time to make something amazing all the time.
Well, after I share this recipe with you, you will. You’re going to be stunned at how tasty it is, and by the fact that it is easy to make and doesn’t take up much of your time.
I think we could all use more recipes like that.
Why You Will Love This Shrimp Dip
You are going to love this shrimp dip for a couple of reasons. First, the ingredients are not hard to come by. I hate having a recipe where I end up having to stop at a couple different stores to find what I need.
No one likes that kind of hassle. We like quick and easy, especially when we are busy. And you will find that is exactly what this recipe is.
In fact, half the ingredients in this recipe, you probably already have in your house.
The amount of some of the ingredients are actually pretty small, so if you end up buying some of the stuff, you will have enough to make several batches.
It is nice to only have to pick up a few items or to be able to keep the ingredients on hand for when you need to whip something together last minute.
There is also no hassle with have to clean shrimp because you can just use the tiny shrimp in a can.
Finally, all you need is plain chips (I suggest the ones with ridges because they don’t break as easy), or some crackers. You don’t need anything expensive or fancy.
Why Others Will Love It
I guarantee if you make this shrimp dip for others, they will be asking you for the recipe. It is just that good!
This is my mom’s go to and she makes it every year for our 4th of July family get together. It is one of the first things to go.
People love it because it is not a normal dip you can just go to the store and pick up.
And it seems like a fancy dip because it has shrimp in it, but really it is not an expensive dish to make.
People also love it because it tastes great with pretty much anything you want to dip. Chips, crackers, pretzels, bread, or even bagels.
Shrimp Dip Recipe
Alright let’s get to it! For this dip, you will need:
1- 8oz package of cream cheese
1 Can tiny shrimp
¼ cup ketchup
1 small onion-diced
2 Tbsp. salad dressing
1 dash horseradish
1 dash garlic powder
Start by softening the cream cheese. Then combine all ingredient and blend with an electric mixer. Chill to let the flavors blend.
- You do not have to soften the cream cheese, but it does make the mixing a lot easier.
- Chilling it does actually allow the flavors to blend. I suggest not skipping this step, but I have had to right after it has been made and it is still good.
- Make it the night before so it has that time to chill.
- If it is a large crowd, double the recipe at least
Summer is always packed with events. It can get stressful at times and when it is an occasion where you have to bring a dish to pass, it can increase your stress level.
It is always great to keep a simple yet tasty recipe on hand for such occasions.
This dip will be a hit with the crowd and relieve your anxiety because it is so easy to make and takes very little time to prepare.
Try it at your next get together and see who the life of the party really is!
